Changes at News 4 New York


In recent days, there have been several changes at WNBC. Here are some of them.



  • Rob Morrison and Perri Peltz have left the station. Perri plans to attend medical school.



  • Michael Gargiulo is no longer on News 4 New York at 5; according to the Daily News, he is expected to replace Rob Morrison on Today in New York.



  • David Ushery is now the co-anchor of News 4 New York at 5 with Sue Simmons.



  • Sue Simmons now co-anchors News 4 New York at 6 with Chuck Scarborough. She will also remain on the 5 and 11PM newscast. She replaces Lynda Baquero, who will remain at the station in a different capacity. Scarborough will remain on New York Nightly News and on News 4 New York at 11.

Jim Rosenfield leaving WCBS


As first reported in the Daily News, Jim Rosenfield is leaving CBS 2 News at the end of the week. His departure is related to the recent budget cuts. Rosenfield, who joined WCBS-TV in June 2005, anchors the noon and 6PM newscast with Dana Tyler. Rosenfield told the Daily News "I will miss everybody I worked with in the newsroom, and especially Dana Tyler," also adding "I've really enjoyed sitting next to Dana Tyler, it has been a pleasure and a privilege." He first worked at WCBS-TV as an anchor from 1998 through 2000, before moving to WNBC to anchor "Live at Five" with Sue Simmons. His last newscast is on Thursday. Jeff Rossen leaving WABC


According to the Daily News, Jeff Rossen will be leaving WABC when his contract is up at the end of the month. Rossen telling Richard Huff at the Daily News "Working with all the great people at WABC has been an amazing experience. I will miss them all. However, I'm ready to spread my wings on different platforms. And I'm excited about pursuing new opportunities." Rossen has been a reporter at WABC since 2001.

Lynda Baquero off News 4 New York at 6?



According to Richard Huff in the Daily News, word is that Lynda Baquero will be off the 6PM newscast at the end of May sweeps period. If she does leave News 4 New York at 6, the big question is: will she stay with the station in a different position or will she leave the station? A WNBC spokeswoman said that "discussions are ongoing" about a possible shift change. Baquero joined the station in 1995 as a general assignment reporter and one year later became co-anchor of Weekend Today in New York.
